See how Our Jupiter Root Canal Therapy Saves Your Smile
Root canal therapy protects your smile from the harmful effects of dental decay and tooth loss. Dr. Casel recommends Jupiter root canal therapy if you suffer from dental decay that poses a threat to your otherwise healthy teeth or to prevent tooth loss. The process of root canal therapy consists of the removal, cleaning, and repair of your tooth’s core.
Decay that has reached the core of your tooth leads to serious infection, such as an abscess, and is harmful to your health if left untreated. An untreated abscess can be fatal, so root canal therapy is essential if it’s deemed necessary by our team.
What is Jupiter Root Canal Therapy?
The natural cavity of your tooth contains the pulp, which is a collection of nerve tissue that’s no longer necessary for your tooth’s health as an adult. The pulp is only removed if you’ve developed dental decay or if your tooth is infected. Removing the pulp of your tooth doesn’t interfere with your smile’s everyday function.
When your tooth’s nerve becomes damaged, it’s a breeding ground for dental decay and bacteria. This jeopardizes your healthy tooth, so root canal therapy is done to prevent further damage. If a root canal treatment is not performed in time, this leads to the development of a dental abscess, whcich is dangerous for your smile, as well as your overall health.
A dental abscess leads to more serious symptoms or health risks, including:
- Swelling in the head and neck;
- Bone deterioration around the tooth root;
- Drainage issues that leads to tissue and muscle damage in your gums and cheek
Signs You May Require Treatment
There are clear signs that you require Jupiter root canal treatment. This includes shooting pain while chewing, tooth pain that keeps you up at night, heightened tooth sensitivity, darkening tooth color, and tender gums. If you suspect you’re experiencing a dental health issue, contact the team here at Premier Dentistry to schedule a check-up for your smile. We’ll take a thorough look at your teeth and gums and go over any concerns you have so your smile stays as healthy as possible!
Experiencing one or more of these symptoms doesn’t always mean you will require root canal treatment, but they’re signs of another potential oral health issue. Always be clear with us about your oral health and hygiene habits so we can make the necessary adjustments to your smile or dental care routine.
The Treatment
Jupiter root canal treatment is a routine procedure here at Premier Dentistry. Some light sedation may be used to help you feel more comfortable, but it depends on the severity of your infection and the discretion of our team. Dr. Casel numbs the area so you don’t feel anything except for pressure in the area during the treatment. Then, he gently drills into the tooth’s cavity to remove the pulp.
The pulp chamber is thoroughly cleaned to remove any remaining debris, and a temporary filling is placed to protect the area. If you complete the treatment in one visit, you may be able to receive your permanent filling the same day. Every smile is unique, so treatment is designed around your specific dental health needs.
Root canal therapy has a very high success rate and keeps your smile healthy for years without needing your filling to be repaired or adjusted. You’ll never notice the difference and may not even experience discomfort following treatment. If you do experience some mild discomfort, it will subside within a day or two. Talk to our team if you have any questions regarding your healing process.
Prevention is the Best Medicine
The best way to treat a dental health issue is to take excellent care of your smile. Prevent needing root canal therapy by following a proper dental care routine and visit our office for a check-up every six months. Preventing a dental emergency is much easier than treating one, and it’s a lot less stressful too! Use fluoride toothpaste and floss daily to remove any plaque from the surface of your teeth.
